To play a Premiership tie away to Carmarthen Quins on Saturday 19th November, Pontypridd travel to west and the match will be held at Y Parc kicking off early at 12 noon.

Last Saturday, the Valley Commandos face Carmarthern off the back of a confidence boosting 29pts to 13 victory over bottom placed club Swansea. In their last match, the Quins lost by 40pts to 20 against reigning champions Ebbw Vale at Eugene Cross Park.

So far this season, Carmarthen’s league form seen win 5 and lose 4 of their 9 matches. After their bonus point victory over Swansea, Pontypridd climbed back up to 5th in the table on 28pts with Carmarthen placed 8 but only 3pts behind.

Last season’s trip to Y Parc saw Ponty win by 16pts to 28pts. That followed a 48pts to 8 victory at home earlier in the campaign.

A theme of continuity has been seen in the Pontypridd team to face Carmarthen with only 2 changes from the starting line-up against Swansea. Lock Sean Moore and number 8 Owen Sheppeard are sidelined with ankle and thigh strains respectively, their places taken by Josh Novell and Dan Godfrey. Hooker Ashleigh James returns from recent illness to take a place on the bench.
